Z Palette Instagram Comments - Z Palette Boycott

Posted at

Z Palette is currently facing an industry-wide boycott after the brand seemingly "bullied" customers on Instagram.

It all started when the brand was promoting their new product, the Z Potter, a heated machine meant to remove makeup from its packaging.

The Z Potter sells for $85 (?68.26), which many customers felt was overpriced. People sounded off in the comments, complaining that the price was much too high for the product, which is similar to a hot plate.

Z Palette hit right back, responding to comments with large amounts of sass.

Customers were outraged, taking to Twitter to denounce the brand. Some even pledged to boycott.

beauty drama is wild I can't believe @ZPalette is just gonna destroy their own company like that lmao yiiiiikkkeeessss

now that @Boxycharm & @Makeupgeek have both dropped #ZPalette - I hope @Sephora & @Ultabeauty are watching and taking note #boycottzpalette

I'm a little shocked that @ZPalette would be so mean to their customers on Instagram. What were they thinking? ?

In regards to the @ZPalette controversy, I am completely appalled and will no longer support their company publicly or privately.

I will literally stick my eye shadow on my refrigerator and meet my next client like this before I buy anything from @ZPalette ever again pic.twitter.com/ufTOck6wEV

I feel like ZPalette was trying to act like the Wendy's twitter account but it ended up being rude AF and not at all funny...

Z Palette then posted a letter to their Instgram, defending their comments. The post has since been deleted, but a screenshot was posted to Imgur.

A portion of the note reads:

We understand feedback, we understand constructive criticism, we understand upset customers. And we deal with those in stride and we know these are all opportunities for us to deliver great customer service. We are not talking about those; we are talking about the viscous, mean-spirited comments from people who, in 99% of cases, haven't even tried the Z Potter. They [sic] just commenting to jump on the band wagon, or be seen or heard, or get [sic] followers.

Unfortunately, the apology didn't quite hit home with fans.

Zpalette would've just been better off saying they got hacked than giving a explanation of why they bullied people

Following the scandal, beauty retailers seem to be dropping the brand from their client list.

"Work hard and be nice to people." Boxycharm will always treat our Charmers with love and respect. We do not agree nor support ZPalette's recent statements in regards to their customers. #Boxycharm #BoxyGalentine

Although Makeup Geek sells ZPalettes to fit our shadows, we do not aline with their recent statements in treating customers poorly!

Makeup Geek in NO way supports treating customers poorly- we pride ourselves in having a top notch customer service team who genuinely care
